The previous owner, Martyn Hillier - founder of the Micropub Association - was made an MBE for services to business and hospitality in the New Year honours. Martyn opened the first micropub in Herne, Kent – the Butchers Arms – in 2005, and has since been leading the micropub movement.

The new owner, Paul Monroe, is now operating the micropub.
