The pub was closed following sudden departure of the previous tenants in summer 2025.

In February 2026 a planning application was submitted to turn the pub into a car wash. However, a lease has been granted to Blean Pub Company and the pub itself has now reopened as of 24th April 2026, although the planning application to use the car park as a car wash is still active and the decision is awaited (Ref CA/25/02369).
