The pub has been vacant following Bob & Nilla's retirement on 24th January 2026, and was being offered to let through Fleurets - agent's details here.

This is a prominent pub in a busy location, and a popular venue for an after-match pint for cricket spectators on their way back from Kent's St Lawrence ground as well as residents. We do hope the freeholders will ensure it continues to serve the local area.

We submitted an application for the pub to be registered as an Asset of Community Value, which has been accepted by Canterbury City Council.

Refurbishment works are underway and this very encouraging notice was spotted on the door on 8th October 2026:
