As reported in July 2025 in the Dover-Kent Archives current licensees Bob & Nilla Griffiths are believed to be retiring and vacating the site at the end of 2025. We do not yet know the owner's plans for the pub.

This is a prominent pub in a busy location, and a popular venue for an after-match pint for cricket spectators on their way back from Kent's St Lawrence ground, and we do hope the freeholders will ensure it continues to serve the local area.
