Kent Cricket Festival Week
Thanks to a combination of excellent organisation (thanks Gill), a willing band of volunteers, support from some of our favourite breweries, great weather and an exciting match between Kent and Middlesex, our CAMRA real ale tent at Kent’s Spitfire Cricket Ground proved hugely popular over the cricket festival weekend.

The CAMRA tent is for CAMRA members and their guests only – it’s not open to the general public - and member admission to the tent is free. CAMRA members may bring guests, and non-members can join CAMRA at the tent. We also offer cricket-tent-only membership at a reduced price. Visitors also need to purchase tickets to get into the ground.
We have our own private seating at the front of our tent, overlooking the pitch. We serve cask beer and cider, wine, soft drinks, tea and coffee and crisps.
Over the course of 4 days we provided over 25 beers, usually 3 or 4 being served at any one time. Many thanks to these organisations who donated beer and cider to help this charitable cause.
The atmosphere was really friendly and what was particularly rewarding was the number of people who came up to the bar as they left and thanked us for our efforts.
All the surplus money from the tent is donated to two charities. This year the charities are Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Research UK. We will post details of the amounts donated in the forthcoming news item on the presentations of the cheques.
