Cricket Festival Charity Cheque Presentation
This year's CAMRA beer tent that we hosted during Kent County Cricket Club's cricket festival raised nearly £3,000 for charity, and one of our members very generously topped up the proceeds to make a round £3,000. All of the surplus raised over the weekend goes to the charities, so thanks are due to the organisers, volunteers and breweries who generously supported us. They are listed in the full report of the weekend.
The bar was busy for the four days of the Kent v Middlesex match and it was great to meet both Kent and Middlesex supporters that weekend . There was an excellent atmosphere and particularly rewarding for the branch volunteers and organisers was the number of members who stopped by the bar on their way out to thank us.
A report on the weekend can be found here.
We presented the cheques to this year's two chosen charities) Alzheimer's Research and Cancer Research) in the Chiesman Pavilion at the cricket ground.
